The objectives of this analysis are to evaluate the technical and scale efficiency of rice farms in West Java and to identify determinants affecting farms? efficiency. Further, the farm size?productivity relation is investigated. Data Envelopment Analysis is used to estimate technical efficiency scores. Additionally, Tobit regression is used to explain the variation in the efficiency scores related to farm-specific factors.

Czech description
Cílem práce je stanovení technické efektivity, výnosů z velikosti a identifikace faktorů, které mají vliv na technickou efektivitu rýžových farem v oblasti Západní Jávy. V návaznosti zkoumám vztah velikosti farmy a její produktivity. Pro vyhodnocení technické efektivity farem používám analýzu obalu dat (DEA). Pomocí odhadu Tobit modelu vysvětluji odchylky skóre efektivity v závislosti na individuálních charakteristikách farem.
