It was found that hemopoietic stromal cells play a chief role in mediating the hemopoiesis-stimulating effects of adamantylamide dipeptide (AdDP). The indirect stimulatory action of AdDP on proliferation of hemopoietic progenitor cells was proved to be mediated by the cells of hemopoietic microenvironment growing as adherent stromal cell populations in vitro
