Distribution of some genetic elements in nuclei of human leukemic cells after irradiation.
Original language description
The goal of these experiments was to determine how homologous genetic elements rearrange in response to ionizing radiation. The comparison of theoretical distributions and experimentally determined signal-to-signal distributions demonstrates that homologous centromeres and genes are positioned closer to each other. The angular distribution of homologous sequences remains random after irradiation.
