Telomerase RNA evolution: a journey from plant telomeres to broader eukaryotic diversity

  • Original language description

This review article explores the evolution of telomerase RNA (TR) across eukaryotes, with a focus on plants. It highlights recent advances in identifying and characterizing TRs, demonstrating their monophyletic origin in land plants and their presence across the broader Diaphoretickes phylogenetic megagroup. The study also challenges assumptions about TR evolution in animals by discovering plant-type TRs in insects.nnDescription. This is a peer-reviewed, revised Authors Accepted Manuscript (AAM).
