Salt removal from microliter sample volumes by multiple phase microelectromembrane extractions across free liquid membranes
Original language description
A new concept for rapid and efficient salt removal from minute volumes of saline samples is presented by using multiple phase microelectromembrane extraction across free liquid membranes. Complete removal (≥ 99.3%) of inorganic anions and cations and efficient retention of biochemical species (≥ 95%) were evidenced by capillary electrophoresis with contactless conductivity detection and by electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry.
