Characterization of urban particulate matter by diffusive gradients in thin film technique
Original language description
Diffusive gradients in thin film (DGT) technique was employed in characterization of particulate matter (PM) related to the urbannarea suffering from heavy traffic. Kinetics of mobilization metal fluxes from metal-contaminated PM was investigated. To monitornresponses of the PM sample, DGTprobes of various thicknesses of diffusion layer were deployed in aqueous model suspensions ofnPM for different time periods. Particulate matter samples and exposed DGTresin gels were decomposed in a mixture of nitric andnhydrochloric acid in a microwave pressurized PTFE-lined system.
