Fracture resistance of cast ferritic steel for container of spent nuclear fuel.
Original language description
Fracture toughness transition behaviour of C-Mn cast steel intended for fabrication of transport and storage container for spent nuclear fuel (ŠKODA) has been assessed applying and confronting various approaches. The fracture resistance has been assessedusing data from static tests of the Charpy V-notch and pre-cracked specimens and from the notched tensile specimens. Transferability of the characteristics of fracture resistance from the small pre-cracked specimens to standard specimens has been testedapplying toughness scaling models and master curve methodology. As the reference data the fracture toughness values from the 1T specimen with various crack lengths have been used.
