Application of the hot-dip in the AlSi bath on the SiFe soft magnetic steel.
Original language description
The hot dip processing using a hypereutectic AlSi bath was applied for the additional alloying of the SiFe steel sheets by silicon. An influence of the technological parameters of the hot dipping and subsequent heat treatments on chemical and phase compositions of the coating and sheet was investigated. The optical, scanning electron microscopy and conversion electron Mössbauer spectroscopy were applied for structure and phase analysis. Changes in the structure and phase composition were compared with changes in electrical resistivity, microhardness, and magnetic properties. Formation of a modified surface layer on the SiFe steel sheet and a separation of the AlSi rich debris of coating were observed after annealing at temperatures above 700*C. The increase in Si content in the sheet surface layer caused growing of the D03 ordered phase. Simultaneously, an increase in electrical resistivity and in microhardness in comparison to the original sheet was found.
