    Emission Mössbauer spectroscopy was applied for investigations of the atomic ordering at grain boundaries (GBs) in the polycrystalline samples of the Fe-12, 24 at. Si and Fe-10, 22 at. Al alloys. 57Co atoms were inserted at grain boundaries of the alloysamples by diffusion annealing and source experiments were carried out. The results derived from the emission (grain boundary) spectra and standard transmission (grain interior) spectra using 57Co in Rh source were compared. Differences in the chemical composition and atomic ordering in grain interiors (GIs) and at GBs were found. In the Fe-Si alloys an increase in Si and impurity concentration at GBs is observed and it is more pronounced for the alloy with the higher Si concentration. The diffusing 57Co atoms prefer the lattice sites having iron atoms only as the nearest neighbours in the D03 superstructure. The results obtained on Fe-Al samples indicate more pronounced differences between GBs and GIs. One part of the 57Co atoms occupy
