The influence of high temperatures on the direction of carbon diffusion flux in steel weldments.
Original language description
The redistribution of carbon in steel weldments heated at temperatures situated in the range 500 up to 1100oC is reported. The sandwich-like specimens used for experiments were made from the steels ČSN 17242 and P91. It was stated that at low temperatures 500-750oC the carbon diffusion flux was directed from steel 17242 into the steel P91 and at high temperatures from P91 into 17242. This effect is attributed to the temperature dependence of carbon activity parameter.
