Energy of Vacancy Formation and Migration of Two Sigma 5 Tilt Grain Boundaries in Ni3Al Intermetallic:a Monte Carlo Simulation Study.

  • Original language description

The atomic structure of Ni3Al intermetallic with a symmetric Sigma 5 tilt grain boundary [100](310) was generated geometrically and relaxed by Monte Carlo method. Both Al-and Ni-type vacancies were simulated in the vicinity of grain boundary and their energy of formation Ef and migration Em were estimated.
