Multi-Step Martensitic Transformations in Ni-rich NiTi Alloys - an In-situ TEM Investigation.
Original language description
Multiple-step martensitic transformations in a Ni-rich NiTi shape memory alloy were investigated by an in-situ transmission electron microscopy. Results of the study rationalize the multiple-step martensitic transformations on the basis of heterogeneousprecipitation of Ni4Ti3 phase during aging of the Ni-rich NiTi alloy. The proposed scenario explains why latent heat associated with martensitic transformation is released in several steps the number of which changes with increasing time of aging.
