    Fracture mechanics analysis of V-notched structures under mixed mode of loading.

  • Original language description

    Existing solution for the singular stress field in the vicinity of a V-notch under mixed-mode loading conditions is applied to description of a fatigue crack emanated from the V-notch. Theoretical model of stability analysis of V-notched bodies under mixed mode of loading is introduced. A numerical approach for estimation of general stress intensity factors is presented. The approach is based on evaluation of the strain energy density factor and is applied to estimation of the corresponding threshold value of the fatigue crack.
