Original language description
Conclusions of a comparison of results of conventional compressive creep tests and small punch tests under constant acting load are presented for a metal matrix composite with magnesium alloy AZ91 matrix. It is shown that the application of these unconventional small punch tests yields results that can be used in a description of creep behaviour of this composite. Similar values of activation parameters describing the creep of the material were obtained from both types of tests. Advantages of the smallpunch tests are discussed.
