Cyclic plastic behavior of alpha brass.
Original language description
Cyclic plastic behavior of alpha brass under symmetrical fatigue loading and loading with tensile mean stress have been experimentally determined. Continuous cyclic hardening is the general characteristic feature of the stress-strain response. Tensile mean stress reduces the cyclic plasticity when compared to the symmetrical loading for low relative number of cycles to fracture. An inverse behavior was observed for a relative numbers of cycles approaching one. Unidirectional strain developed in tests with tensile mean stress and cyclic plasticity are closely related.
