    Preparation and properties of C-Fe nanocomposites.

  • Original language description

    The nanocomposites of iron nanoparticles in carbon phases prepared by spark synthesis, laser pyrolysis and mechanical milling were investigated. Structure and phase analysis were carried out by Mössbauer spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, TEM, and magneticmeasurement. In the as-prepared state a nanocrystalline iron, iron carbides, iron oxides and carbon phases were identified. Mean particle size were 10 - 30 nm. Using additional heat treatment higher amount (about 95%) of iron atoms in a-Fe particles were obtained. The particles had mean diameters about 30 - 50 nm and were closed in graphite shells.
