CALCULATION AND ASSESSMENT OF CONSTRAINT FOR SHORT FATIGUE CRRACKS

  • Original language description

A two-parameter constraint-based fracture mechanics method is applied to problems of the behavior of short fatigue cracks. Microstructurally short fatigue cracks are modeled and numerically analyzed. The different levels of stress constraint are quantified by using T-stress. The corresponding calculations are performed by using a finite element method. It is shown that short fatigue cracks generally behave more sensitively to constraint than long ones. The nominal value of the stress intensity factor Kand T-stress are not adequate to describe the behavior of a short of microstructure, must be used to explain, at least qualitatively, the anomalous behavior of short fatigue cracks.

VÝPOČET A POSOUZENÍ VLIVU CONSTRAINTU PRO KRÁTKÉ ÚNAVOVÉ TRHLINY
