    Fracture Toughness of Multi-layer Pipes

  • Original language description

    Multilayer pipes composed of various materials improve partially the properties of a pipes system and are frequently used in praxis. To estimate the lifetime of these pipes the basic fracture parameters have to be measured. In the contribution a new approach to this estimation is presented. Special type of C-shaped non-homogeneous fracture mechanics specimen machined directly from the pipe was suggested, numerically analyzed and tested. Corresponding K values are calculated by FEM. As results the fracture toughness values of HDPE pipes material are obtained.

    Vícevrstevnaté trubky složené z různých materiálů významným způsobem zlepšují mechanické i lomové vlastnosti celého systému. V tomto článku jsou uvedeny nové typy zkušebních těles, které lépe popisují vlastnosti vícevrstevnatých trubek. Výpočet je proveden pomocí MKP, numericky jsou vyčísleny hodnoty součinitele intenzity napětí a je spočítána hodnota lomové houževnatosti.
