This special topical volume includes ten invited papers that cover chosen areas of the field solid phase transformations. These areas are following: computer simulation of physical phenomena, thermodynamics of phase transformations, interrelations between the phenomenology of phase transitions and the microstructure, the interconnections between the structural stability and electronic structure of phases, displacive transformations, influence of pressure upon the phase transition, the phase transformation in hydride phases and new materials.

Tento speciální tématický svazek obsahuje deset pozvaných článků, které pokrývají vybrané oblasti na poli transformace v pevné fázi. Jsou to následující oblasti: počítačová simulace fyzikálních jevů, termodynamika fázové transformace, vzájemné vztahy mezi fenomenologií fázové transformace a mikrostrukturou, propojení mezi strukturní stabilitou a elektronickou strukturou fází, displacive transformace, vliv tlaku na fázový přechod, fázové transformace v hydridových fázích a nové materiály.
