Microstructural stability and creep behaviour of a precipitate strengthened binary Cu-Zr alloy processed by ECAP
Original language description
A coarse-grained Cu-0.2wt%Zr alloy was processed by equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) in order to evaluate the effect of severe plastic deformation on the thermal stability of resulting ultrafine-grained microstructure after ECAP and creep behaviourof pressed alloy. The microstructural investigations were performed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and electron back-scatter diffraction (EBSD). The thermal stability of ultrafine-grained microstructure was investigated at temperature ranging from 473 to 773 K for 10 h. It was observed that the microstructure is very stable and contains high number of high angle grain boundaries (HAGB). Constant stress creep tests in tension were conducted at the different applied stresses and temperature673 K.
