Effect of the free surface on crack behaviour in cracked graded structures
Original language description
The aim of the paper is to study the free surface effect on crack behaviour of a crack located in a graded structure. For a determination of the effect the geometry of a Single Edge Crack Tension (SECT) specimen with graded region between two homogenousbasic materials (see Fig. 1) is used in numerical simulations. A continuous and smooth graded structure is modelled with various magnitude of non-homogeneity. Fracture parameters are calculated along the crack front for different crack length.
