Effect of carbon-supersaturation upon the carbon diffusion in 9Cr?1Mo ferrite steel
Original language description
Carbon diffusion was studied in temperature interval 573?1073K in carbon-supersaturated surface layer of ferrite 9Cr?1Mo steel P91.Extremely low carbon diffusion coefficient D (by 3 orders of magnitude lower than equilibrium value Deq) was observed in carburized region above the temperature Tn 810K, whereas below Tn, the D increased and approached the value of Deq. The difference in carbon diffusion behaviour above and below Tn was interpreted by different atomic arrangements.
