Investigation of creep of Fe3Al-based alloys with zirconium additions
Original language description
Compressive creep of alloys based on Fe-25 at. % Al with zirconium additions in the range of 0.3 to 5 at. % was studied at temperatures from 650 to 900 °C. The alloys were tested in two different states: (i) cast and (ii) annealed at 1000 °C for 50 hours. Stress exponents and activation energies were estimated. The solubility of Zr in Fe-Al is low and the microstructure of the cast alloy consists of Fe(Al) matrix and eutectic composed from lamellae of the Laves phase and Fe(Al) (?/B2/D03). The eutecticdecomposes into two-phase structure upon annealing at 1000 °C for 50 h. The composite model is used to describe the deformation behaviour.
