On faceting of {1 0 (1)over-bar 1} and {1 0 (1)over-bar 2} twin boundaries in hcp metals
Original language description
Twin boundaries are traditionally considered as straight interfaces aligned with plane invariant to twin-ning shear. However, inclinations of twin boundaries from ideal positions are often observed in materialswith hcp structure. Such inclinations can be caused by faceting of twin boundaries. Development off101 0g=ð0001Þfacets is demonstrated forf101 2gtwin andf101 1g=ð0001Þfacets forf101 1gtwin. It was shown that observed types of facets can be explained in terms of disconnection mechanismof twin growth.
