The symposium examines various aspects of human strengths and positive potentials embedded in individual, developmental, social and therapeutical contexts. S. Joseph presents new measure developed to assess changes in psychological well-being post trauma(PWB-PTCQ) and provides data on psychometric properties of validity and reliability and its relation to big five measures of personality and well-being. P. Steca investigates the role of positive orientation and self-efficacy beliefs in influencing cardiac patients? disease perception and self-management, quality of life, and clinical condition. J. P. van Oudenhoven reports on cross-cultural differences in importance of virtues in three religious groups and a non-religious group of opinion leaders in the Netherlands. A. Slezackova reports on the study on posttraumatic growth in parents of childhood cancer survivors and its bio-psycho-social factors and determinants and connections to positive psychology.
