  • Original language description

The booklet informs about the key findings of the project 'Political Culture, Democratic Values, and Misinformation: Detecting Democratic Footholds and Weaknesses', which was sponsored by the Visegrad fund (Application 22120123). The survey inquired about the democratic spirit in the countries of V4 and in Germany. In total, 5,344 respondents participated in surveys (1,063 in the Czech Republic, 1,074 in Germany, 1,082 in Hungary, 1,078 in Poland, and 1,045 in Slovakia), data were collected electronically during November and December of 2022, quota samples were representative for gender, age, education, and place of residence. The booklet provides a graphic presentation of the main results, chapters include democratic trends, the issue of trust, identity threat, the biggest perceived problems, tolerance, satisfaction with life, and conspiracy beliefs. In most measures, German responses indicate stronger democratic footholds than the rest of the sample. n
