Original language description

Industries from eastern Central Europe dated after the Last Glacial Maximum (20-15 ky BP) were hitherto presented as a ?mosaic? of derived Gravettian and Aurignacian features. Actually, following a preliminary revision of the sites, the typological structure becomes more homogenous, with a dominance of short endscrapers and burins on flakes. Thus, the terms ?Epigravettian? and ?Epiaurignacian? appear as missleading, and we propose to substitute them by a new name, derived from a local reference site such as Grubgraben (Austria) or, rather, Kašov (Slovakia). In addition, changes in settlement strategies and resource exploitation over the landscape are recorded at the same time.

Czech description

Industrie z východní části střední Evropy datované po posledním glaciálním maximu (20-15 tis. let) byly dosud chápány jako ?mozaika? odvozených gravettských a aurignackých prvků. V současné době, po předbězné revizi lokalit, se typologická struktura jevíjako více homogenní, s převahou krátkých škrabadel a rydel na úštěpech. Termíny ?epigravettien? a ?epiaurignacien? jsou tedy zavádějící a navrhujeme je nahradit novým názvem, odvozeným od lokální referenční lokality jako je Grubgraben (Rakousko) nebo, spíše, Kašov (Slovensko). Současně lze pozorovat rovněž změny v sídleních strategiích, exploataci krajiny a jejích zdrojů.
