This volume is dedicated to the evaluation of archaeobotanical data obtained from new archaeological excavations in the area of the Mikulčice-Kopčany settlement agglomeration between 2005 and 2014. Through intensive sampling of the excavated area and the application of state-of-the-art techniques for the extraction of plant macroremains from archaeological deposits, we were able to collect a vast archaeobotanical assemblage that was substantially varied in terms of the origin of the samples. A detailed knowledge of the archaeological context of the samples enabled us to apply a series of taphonomic, mathematic and ecological analyses. As a result of the comparison of the archaeobotanical findings and the existing archaeological theories, a study was conducted concerning the production of agricultural crops and the supply of the agglomeration with foodstuffs of plant origin.
