Original language description
Records of the harvest mouse (Micromys minutus) in the subalpine zone of the Czech Mountains are summarized. We report additional records of this species from the high locations in the Hrubý Jeseník Mts. Specimens from the Velká Kotlina valley (1,455 m and 1,200 m a.s.l.) are the highest altitudinal records of this species on the territory of the Czech Republic. Possible causes and impact of deforestation on recent changes of its distribution are discussed.
