Original language description
In the course of the so-called restoration of floodplain forests along the lower reaches of the Dyje river a network of channels within the 'Kančí obora' floodplain forest was restored and built. The aim of the restoration activities was to renew the water supply within the floodplain forests and thus to eliminate the negative impact of the Dyje river canalization. In the following years the impact of the executed measures on other components of the ecosystem, including the fish biota, was studied. 26 fish species were found in the course of ichthyological research in the hydrological system in 1995-2002. The following species are considered stable components of the local fish fauna: Esox lucius, Rutilus rutilus, Scardinius erythrophthalmus, Abramis bjoerkna, Abramis brama, Rhodeus sericeus, Carassius carassius, Perca fluviatilis and Gymnocephalus cernuus. Occurrence of other species is local and frequently time-limited.
