During the summer late season aspect of the year 2000, the infection by mermithid nematode Eurymermis sp. (Mermithidae, Nematoda) was detected in a total of 175 tabanid fly adults of five species collected in South Moravia. The following parameters of mermithid infections depending on the host species were determined: the prevalence within the range of 1.05 - 13.64 %, the intensity of infection 1 - 4 and the mean abundance (extremely low) 0.011 - 0.273. The results indicate that the populations of the tabanid flies in the investigated area were influenced by the parasitizing mermithids in only to a relatively low degree during the period studied.

Czech description

Spektrum možných hostitelů a rozličné parametry infekce ovádů larvami hlístů byly sledovány v lužních lesích na jižní Moravě. Infekce hlísty rodu Eurymermis sp. (Mermithidae, Nematoda) byla zjištěna u pěti ze šesti druhů ovádů (vyšetřeno 175 dospělců) odchycených na Břeclavsku v průběhu letního období roku 2000. Byly určeny následující parametry infekce hlísty závisející na druhu hostitele: prevalence v rozmezí 1,05 - 13,64 %, intenzita infekce 1 - 4 jedinci, průměrná početnost (extrémně nízká) 0,011 -0,273. Výsledky studie naznačují, že na zkoumané lokalitě byly populace ovádů v době výzkumu ovlivněny parazitujícími hlísty pouze nízkou měrou.
