We studied common cuckoos (Cuculus canorus), parasitizing a population of great reed warblers, Acrocephalus arundinaceus in locality where multiple parasitism was frequent. Hosts rejected parasite eggs less often in nests with multiple parasitism than innests with single parasitism. These observations were confirmed by experimental parasitism and support the rejection based on discordance hypothesis.

Czech description
Studovali jsme hnízdního parazita kukačku obecnou (Cuculus canorus) parazitující populaci rákosníka velkého na lokalitě s vícenásobným parazitismem. Hostitelé odmítali parazitická vejce méně často, byla-li ve hnízdě dvě vejce parazita, než u hnízd, ve kterých se objevilo pouze jedno parazitické vejce. Tato pozorování byla potvrzena i experimentálně a podporují hypotézu "nesouhlasu" ve zbarvení parazitického vejce a vajec hostitele.
