Construction of interim storage of spent nuclear fuel is an important part of spent fuel treatment. The main advantages of the underground variety are long duration, high protection and safety. The geotechnical aspects of an underground interim storage of spent fuel obtain beside stability problems first of all influence of heating on the rocks and support and natural cooling ventilation of underground storage.
