Original language description
Borderland territories are handicapped in comparison with the inlad ones in all countries. This phenoment is manifested in the region of Beskydy, too. In 1993 the specific situation occured here. In this territory a new Czech-Slovak frontier arose. The territory under study got into three sovereign states and the inland areas became marginal ones. The establishment of the Euroregion Beskydy could help to eliminte this situation partially.

Czech description
Pohraniční regiony jsou znevýhodněny ve srovnání s regiony vnitrozemskými. Tento jev se projevuje od rozdělení Československa na dva samostatné státy v r. 1993 také v regionu Beskydy. Založení euroregionu Beskydy by mohlo částečně tuto nevýhodu eliminovat.
