Post-industrial landscape - its identification and classification as contemporary challenges faced by geographic research
Original language description
The post-industrial landscape represents a common phenomenon of developed industrial countries. Its dominant definition feature is given by the presence of "fossil" (inactive, off its original destination) industrial and related areas and objects. The identification of relevant "post-industrial" objects and areas on the territory of the representative study area Rosicko-Oslavansko (once heavy industry, Southern Moravian Region) was completed in the course of the works proposed by the project "The fate of the Czech post-industrial landscape". The process of the identification and typology of the post-industrial landscape using knowledge on the secondary landscape structure and GIS technology is demonstrated on example of the Rosicko-Oslavansko area. Theprocedure developed was used to classification of areas with the different level of the "post-industrialness" in the present landscape. The preliminary results represent starting points for the future planning in the given territory.
