Anglers? Fishing Site Choice on a Large Scale: The Case of the Czech Republic
Original language description
The spatial pattern of anglers? movements among fisheries was analyzed using detrended correspondence analysis and gravity model. Anglers choose, on the national level, a fishery to travel to mainly according to its spatial position. The distance as spatial attribute is not only the main factor determining travel to all of Czech fisheries but also to specific tourist fisheries. Distance travelled is also influenced by the type of fishery. The mobility of anglers varies and correlates with the number ofinhabitants of their domicile. Fisheries on big reservoirs and salmonid waters, in particular, are the best prerequisites to becoming a main destination for angler-tourists.
