Rock mass fracturing in main gate roof behind advancing longwall face
Original language description
To increase the stability of roadways, high cable bolts and short steel beams are increasingly used nowadays, which should lead higher stability of the supporting steel arches during both driving of roadways and primarily during mining of longwall panelsin the Czech part of the Upper Silesian Coal Basin. This high anchoring is also obtained by the substitution of middle hydraulic props used to stabilize steel arches support ahead of the advancing longwall. If the roadways are re-used, high cable boltsare used to subsequently stabilize a support frame construction behind the advancing longwall. Anchoring in a high non-fracturing rock mass of a roadway roof is necessary for the effective function of these cable bolts.
