Original language description
The study essays to sketch development of the political relations between the Ottoman and the Habsburg Empires in the first half of the 17th century. It questions traditional interpretation of mutual relations in that time as being influenced by generalcrisis of the Ottoman Empire and turns attention to the fact that it was not always in interst of the Ottomans to wage a war with their horthern neighbour and that not alwasy it were the Ottomans who broke the peace.
