The special issue of Gender and Research tackles the problematic of Islamic Feminism by bringing together several scholars speciliazing in gender and Islam. The issue focuses on issues such as gender equality and gender justice in the Muslim family law and emphasizes the need to reinterpret the Quranic verses addressing women and their rights and duties in order to rectify some deep gender inequalities that exist in Muslim socieities
