    When Narẕullāh Bīktāsh Ḥaidarī completed his introduction to Pairau Sulaimānī’s first collection of poems entitled Shukūfa-i adabiyāt (“Blossoms of Poetry”) in November 1930, he was one of the most highly regarded but not undisputed literary critics in the young Republic of Tajikistan. He was thirty years old, brimmed with self-confidence, and actively engaged with all cultural-political debates taking place in the Republic.
