Original language description
The study deals with the political consequences of the suburbanization process in the Czech Republic. Aggregate socio-economic data are used to the creation of the typology of suburbs. Both electoral turnout and the electoral preferences in suburna municipalities are studied in relation to their socioeconomic, cultural and geograhical features. The analyses show that in not all features the Czech suburban population follow the trends observable in the West but most relations are similar.

Czech description
Studie se zabývá politickými důsledky suburbanizace v České republice. Na základě agregátních socioekonomických dat byla vytvořena typologie suburbánních komunit. Byly analyzovány souvislosti mezi volební účastí a volebními preferencemi a socioekonomickými, kulturními a geografickými charakteristikami příměstských obcí. Výsledky analýz potvrzují, že politické chování obyvatel předměstí se neshoduje ve všech rysech s pozorováními ze zahraničí. V hlavních trendech se nicméně shodují.
