Application of the Modernization Theory to Post-Socialist Changes.
Original language description
There is given a recapitulation of the cooperation of Czech and Slovak sociologists in the field of postsocialist transformation. This has led to the statement that an application of modernization theory only offers adequate criteria for the evaluation of the effectivity of institutional and social changes. Modernization has to be conceived in a complex way, including changes in quality of life. It has to be singled out from partial changes of counter-modern nature and from stagnation processes.
