Original language description
This book and its title means in the first place a study how different historians-mainly German, but also American, British and French, have provided a series of differing and often conflicting readings of the German past in recent years. Fast reunification of boths parts of Germany brought a challenge to the German society in the form of searching for new identities. Within the frame of complicated issues connected with history of modern Germany all is reinterpretated, including era of nazism, communism etc. All aspects are dicussed here.
