The one-day workshop organised by National Contact Centre ů Women and Science of the Institute of Sociology and the European Commission under the ENWISE project of the European Commission brought together representatives of the EC, ENWISE expert group members and young scientists from 13 CEE countries, one male and one female. The debates addressed the issues of external and internal brain drain, mobility of young researchers, gender issues in R&D, prestige of science and the age gap in R&D in Central European research institutions. Prior to the workshop the participants, most of whom participated in Marie Curie Fellowships, were asked to complete a questionnaire and an analysis of the questionnaire served as a starting point of debates in afternoon sections.
