This study tries to demonstrate the links between the social structure and social policies. Using a socio-economic approach it exhibits four types of socio-economic friction that develop between the middle class and other groups, between the new and theold middle class, between pensioners and the economically active, and between people with employment and the non-working poor.

Studie poukazuje na spojitost mezi sociální strukturou a sociálními politikami. Z hlediska sociálně-ekonomického přístupu představuje čtyři typy sociálně-ekonomických frikcí, které se rozvíjejí mezi střední třídou a ostatními skupinami, mezi ?novou? a ?starou? střední třídou, důchodci a ekonomicky aktivními, pracujícími a nepracujícími chudými.
