Original language description
Non-response trends in Czechia point to a decline in the survey climate in 1990s. While non-contacts and refusals are a significant problem, issues relating to how fieldwork is undertaken are equally important. The relative success of the Czech Statistical Office in attenuating non-response demonstrates that prudent surveying strategies can be effective. An examination of two waves of the European Social Survey reveals both the problems and strategies available for response rate enhancement.

Trendy návratnosti českých šetření ukazují na zhoršení výzkumného klimatu v 90. letech. Problematické jsou míry nekontaktování a odmítnutí, ale velký význam mají i rozdíly ve výkonech výzkumníků. Relativní úspěšnost ČSÚ ukazuje, že prozíravé výzkumné strategie mohou být efektivní. Analýza dvou vln Evropského sociálního výzkumu odhaluje jak problémy, tak poukazuje na možnosti aplikace strategií zvyšování návratnosti
