The Labour Market and Work-Life Balance i the Czech Republic in Historical Perspective
Original language description
The chapter is focused on the development of the position of women in the labour market and on the development of the conditions for work-life balance in the workplace historically from the 1950s to the present. We argue that the high employment of womendoes not automatically imply women?s emancipation and fulfilment of their rights as citizens in a society based on a gender contract with the gendered arrangements of work and care as conflicting spheres. This chapter is based on the study of historicalstatistics, law, and available survey data.
