Original language description
First, theory of family resources in the status attainment process is presented. Second, determinants of status in the CR (ISEI, highbrow cultural capital, education) of the cohort aged 30?34 (Distinction and Values 2008 survey) are assessed in OLS models, also separately for the class of origin and gender. Status is influenced mainly by father?s occupation, parental encouragement in educational aspirations, academic performance and reading climate (cognitive cultural capital) during adolescence.
