Research seminar held by Samuel Lucas ?Theorizing Discrimination: Selected Observations and Conclusions from the United States?
Original language description
This seminar presented theoretical perspectives on the problem of measuring discrimination and its consequences. Particular attention was placed on differentiating prejudice and discrimination; while modern societies have largely condoned prejudice against minorities, actual discrimination has continued to persist. Discussion focused on the lack of attention towards discrimination within stratification research, as well as various applications to the Czech context.
