    Rental Housing for Young Households in the Czech Republic: Perceptions, Priorities, and Possible Solutions

    The authors try to understand why private rental housing is perceived as a sub-optimal housing solution among young adults. They argue that the main problem of rental housing is the short-term of lease caused by lack of mutual trust between tenants and landlords. The insecurity of rental housing contributes to delayed family formation. Authors survey also opinions of young adults and landlords on a policy tools that attempts to overcome lack of trust through the involvement of an independent guarantor.
